Role Description

We are currently searching for a Windows Desktop Migration Engineer:

  • Execute user migrations following a standardized factory playbook, tracking progress and outcomes meticulously.
  • Validate end-user functionality on new Azure-hosted desktops, including M365 Suite, internal business apps, and web tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues end-to-end across Windows environments and application configurations.
  • Perform application testing, including defect reproduction and regression checks, before and after migration.
  • Coordinate technical fixes with partner teams while communicating clearly with users in trading, engineering, and senior management.
  • Provide structured reporting on assigned workloads, specifically identifying risks, blockers, and migration status.
  • Write clear technical notes and user updates to manage expectations and drive issue closure.

Qualifications

  • 5 to 8 years of overall IT experience, with at least 3 years specifically in Windows desktop migrations.
  • Strong familiarity with Windows desktop environments and application behavior troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in cloud connectivity (Azure preferred) and access management, including core networking concepts.
  • Coding proficiency in Python or Java for automation and diagnostics.
  • Strong debugging and problem isolation skills, utilizing logs, configurations, and reproduction steps.
  • Solid application testing knowledge, including test design and a regression mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain technical issues to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong personal project management to handle high-volume user queues and accurate reporting.
