[Hiring] VP of Automation Engineering @Huzzle

Role Description

We are hiring a VP of Automation Engineering to act as the foundational technical leader and strategic partner to the CEO. This is a hands-on executive role where you will architect and scale automation systems, build internal products, and lead a high-performing engineering team.

You will operate in an AI-first environment, where tools like Claude Code are part of daily development workflows—not optional add-ons.

Key Responsibilities

• Automation Architecture & Infrastructure
  • Own and scale end-to-end automation systems using n8n and API integrations
  • Architect orchestration layers for complex, multi-client environments
  • Build resilient systems with monitoring, alerting, and self-healing capabilities
  • Integrate tools like Clay, CRMs, and outbound platforms into a unified infrastructure
• Product Development
  • Build internal and client-facing products using Node.js, TypeScript, and modern frameworks
  • Own the full product lifecycle—from architecture to deployment
  • Develop scalable automation products and operational dashboards
  • Establish engineering standards, CI/CD pipelines, and documentation
• AI Systems & Intelligence Layer
  • Design and deploy production-grade AI/LLM systems (Claude, OpenAI, etc.)
  • Use Claude Code as a core development accelerator across the team
  • Build intelligent pipelines for classification, enrichment, and decision-making
  • Optimize prompt engineering, evaluation systems, and reliability at scale
• Leadership & Technical Strategy
  • Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing engineering team
  • Define and execute the technical roadmap aligned with company growth
  • Partner directly with the CEO on product and engineering strategy
  • Lead sprint planning, prioritization, and delivery execution

Qualifications

• Deep, production-level experience with n8n automation systems
• Strong full-stack development skills (JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, APIs, databases)
• Proven experience leading engineers while remaining hands-on
• Daily, hands-on use of Claude Code in development workflows
• Strong working experience with Clay for data enrichment, signal detection, or GTM automation
• Experience building and scaling AI/LLM systems in production
• Strong systems architecture thinking (scalability, reliability, fault tolerance)
• Executive-level mindset with the ability to align technical decisions with business outcomes

Preferred Experience

• Agency or services background with multi-client automation systems
• Experience building SaaS or productized internal tools
• Familiarity with tools like Airtable, HubSpot, Slack APIs, and outbound infrastructure
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, etc.)
