[Hiring] Tier 3 Automation Engineer @BMO

Role Description

I’m looking to engage an analyst to join my Tier 3 Automation & Remediation team. This role will focus on large-scale endpoint automation and remediation.

This position requires a 7.5-hour shift scheduled between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. On-call/pager duties are required, with the on-call rotation occurring approximately one week per month, from Friday at 5:00 p.m. until the following Friday at 7:00 a.m. While on call, the employee will only be paged when support is required.

What you’ll do:

• Build and operate enterprise-scale endpoint automation across a large device fleet (e.g., monthly automation touching 500K+ device actions) to rapidly close issues once root cause is identified.
• Develop and enhance “health check & fix” remediations, including:
  • Validating/fixing Windows and SCCM environment variables
  • Addressing Registry.pol corruption
  • Restarting and validating key services
  • Triggering Co-Management evaluations and Software Center cycles
• Partner with support and engineering teams to turn recurring issues into repeatable, safe, and auditable automations, reducing manual effort and support tickets.

Qualifications

• Typically 4-7 years of work experience in IT or business environment and/or BS/BA or MBA/MS in computer science, engineering, information systems, math or business.
• Understanding of Information Technology operating processes used for systems to ensure effective delivery including but not limited to IT Operations mandatory operating standards for monitoring, logging, and alerting.
• Knowledge of support and operations practice, concepts, and technology obtained through formal training and/or work experience.
• Technical and/or business functional knowledge of systems, tools, timing, and dependencies.
• Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.

Requirements

• Advanced PowerShell skills (production-ready scripting, modular design, robust logging and error handling)
• Hands-on Microsoft Intune experience (remediation-style work) and SCCM / MECM operational experience
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to act quickly in production (break/fix mindset with ownership)
• Experience working in an Agile, fast-paced environment and collaborating cross-functionally
