Role Description

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to provide technical leadership and architectural guidance for our Cloud Sync platform. In this role, you will partner closely with Product Management, Engineering Leadership, and fellow technical leaders to:

• Design scalable solutions
• Establish engineering standards
• Drive strategic initiatives across a critical product ecosystem

You'll serve as a trusted technical advisor, helping teams navigate complex architectural decisions while ensuring quality, performance, scalability, and long-term maintainability.

As a key technical leader, you will:

• Modernize legacy synchronization services
• Improve platform reliability and performance
• Advance our cloud-first architecture
• Influence technical strategy
• Mentor engineers
• Lead architectural discussions
• Serve as a go-to resource for solving complex distributed systems challenges
• Drive continuous improvement across the engineering organization

This position is remote within the United States with up to 10% travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience designing and delivering complex, enterprise-scale software systems
• Expertise in software architecture, distributed systems, client-server architecture, object-oriented design, and engineering best practices
• Proven ability to create technical designs, architectural documentation, and scalable solutions while influencing technical decisions across teams
• Problem-solving skills and experience diagnosing and resolving complex production issues
• Demonstrated technical leadership through mentoring engineers, conducting code reviews, driving software quality, and elevating team capabilities
• A natural collaborator with excellent communication skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, challenge assumptions, and build alignment without direct authority
• A hands-on technical leader who combines strategic thinking, ownership, accountability, and continuous learning to deliver meaningful business outcomes

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• Experience with cloud-based applications and service-oriented architectures
• Familiarity with modern API frameworks, messaging systems, and event-driven architectures
• Experience leading technical initiatives spanning multiple engineering teams
