[Hiring] Staff Engineer @Bayer

Role Description

Staff Engineer for St. Louis, MO to:

• Collect, process, transform, and analyze agronomic & geospatial data.
• Design & implement data processing pipelines for mobile, web, and third-party integrations.
• Design & implement highly scalable data-intensive processing software systems and microservice-based services.
• Support design & code review process.
• Mentor & train junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Technology, or closely-related field.
• 3 years experience in an agronomic, agriscience, and/or crop science environment.

Requirements

• Using MRMS & AHPS to produce daily precipitation data for business-to-business workflows.
• Using PRISM, GHCN & ERA5 to review historical weather information and analyze regional temperature data for business-to-consumer workflows.
• Designing & implementing REST and GraphQL APIs using Java, Clojure, and Scala for deployment on Azure and AWS.
• Designing & implementing data-intensive processing software systems for agronomic and geospatial data using Python and GCP BigQuery.
• Analyzing planting, soil sampling & harvest data to prepare in-season insights to third-party customers.
• Developing GitHub CoPilot AI skills & agents to perform operational maintenance & migration of Java, Clojure, and Scala upgrades.
• Telecommuting permitted from home office location anywhere in U.S.
• Up to 25% U.S. and international travel required.

Benefits

• Salary Range: $190,000.00 to $225,000.00.
• Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).
