Role Description

As a Sr. Batch Developer (Linux/C/SQL) at Gainwell, you can contribute your skills as we harness the power of technology to help our clients improve the health and well-being of the members they serve — a community’s most vulnerable. Here are the details on this position:

• Code, test, debug, implement and document moderately complex programs.
• Analyze, design and write specs and reqs from which we develop and code programs.
• Evaluate existing systems and programs; assist project manager in assigning tasks and work closely with a team.
• Liaise with clients and management to provide technical consulting on complex programming projects, validate program requirements and resolve issues that arise.
• Develop test plans and participate in QA activities such as coding reviews.
• Participate as a member of a development team and lead a small sub-team of developers as needed.
• Design system components and delegate responsibilities to team members.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in applications development utilizing ANSI C, Linux, Perl, and related scripting technologies.
• Demonstrated expertise with relational database systems, including data-modeling principles and development using Oracle and/or SQL Server.
• Experience in healthcare information technology is required.
• Exposure to financial or banking systems is strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of Healthcare Management Systems.
• Commercial health insurance or public health organization experience is advantageous.
• Understanding of accounting workflows, including ledger-based processes.
• Proven ability to lead, direct, and guide team members in a collaborative technical environment.
• Ability to facilitate application design and assume ownership of application components within a large-scale Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS).

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder-engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across business and technical teams.
• Ability to operate effectively in high-pressure environments and provide ongoing production support.
• Demonstrated adherence to organizational processes and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Experience with enterprise batch scheduling tools (Autosys, IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS)).
• Exposure to modern DevOps and version-control tools such as Azure DevOps and GitHub is preferred.
