[Hiring] Software Engineer II, Frontend @Affirm

Role Description

As a Software Engineer II on the Marketing & Privacy Engineering (MPE) team, you will:

• Build and improve high-traffic consumer web experiences.
• Contribute to experimentation, instrumentation, and marketing integrations.
• Work in a modern web stack across React, TypeScript, and shared component systems.
• Develop expertise in technologies such as Google Tag Manager, analytics and experimentation platforms, conversion tracking, and marketing APIs.
• Partner with senior engineers, Product, Design, Marketing, Analytics, and Data Engineering to ship reliable experiences.
• Ensure measurement and privacy requirements are considered during development.

What You'll Do

• Break down larger projects into individual tasks and deliver them in multiple phases.
• Collaborate with product management, design & analytics during the product development lifecycle.
• Create and monitor metrics to support the operations and availability of your team’s artifacts.
• Engage in growth and development activities, including participation in the interview process.

Qualifications

• 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Experience shipping web apps using declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue.
• Experience working with JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Ability to transform simple problems into solutions that interact with multiple software components.
• Comfortable navigating a large code base, debugging others' code, and providing feedback through code reviews.
• Demonstrated ownership of personal growth and proactive feedback seeking.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration.
• Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Requirements

• Base Pay Grade: L
• Equity Grade: 6
• Base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT): $165,000 - $225,000 per year.
• Base pay range (all other U.S. states): $146,000 - $206,000 per year.
