[Hiring] Software Engineer @Liquid XR

Role Description

We are seeking a Software Engineer to interface with embedded systems, machine learning models, and 3D game engines. This role focuses on building reliable, reusable systems that build upon and expand our current architecture for wearable input devices.

• Work on interfacing with BTLE devices, motion and orientation estimation through IMU arrays, and creating plugins for popular game engines like Unity, Unreal, and Godot.

Responsibilities

• Write C/C++ code to interface with custom BTLE hardware.
• Build systems to expose the abilities of the custom hardware to multiple platforms and engines (Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android; Unity, Unreal, and others).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide feedback and improvements across the full application stack, including:
  • Testing and debugging with custom embedded systems.
  • Investigating motion tracking and pose estimation systems.
  • Making tools for data collection, validation, and analysis.
  • R&D with sensor fusion, machine vision, and motion capture.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with C/C++.
• Additional experience in platform specific languages such as Swift, C#, TypeScript, and Kotlin.
• Familiarity with IMUs and VQF algorithms.
• Experience working with or integrating machine learning models in real-time applications.
• Experience with multiple popular game engines.
• Experience with embedded systems or consoles.
• Excellent communication skills.
• BSc or MSc degree in computer science or a related field (e.g., engineering, physics, applied math).
• Bluetooth device experience a plus.

Who You Are

• A Communicator: Ability to interface well with non-programmers and learn quickly.
• A Performance Tweaker: Strong intuition for optimization and code safety.
• An Owner: You possess a powerful ownership mindset and take full accountability for your projects from concept to completion.
• A Proactive Driver: You are a self-starter who can "catch the vision and run with it." You thrive with autonomy and are skilled at moving projects forward with minimal oversight.
• A Team Player: You are a natural collaborator who works effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals.
• Adaptable and Resilient: You excel at managing multiple priorities without sacrificing quality. You see the challenges of a startup environment as opportunities.
• Detail-Oriented: You have a keen eye for detail and are committed to producing high-quality, well-documented work.
