[Hiring] Software Development Engineer @Amazon

Role Description

Amazon MQ is a managed AWS service for Apache ActiveMQ and RabbitMQ that streamlines setup, operation, and management of message brokers on AWS. This position is to provide development support for RabbitMQ. In this role, you will spend the majority of your time writing open source software in Erlang.

• Designing, developing, testing, and deploying distributed open-source message broker systems and large-scale solutions for our world-wide customer base.
• Collaborating closely with cross-functional peers and open source project maintainers to influence our overall strategy and define the team’s roadmap.
• Driving the system architecture and spearheading best practices that enable a quality product.
• Coaching and developing junior engineers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
