[Hiring] Senior UI Engineer @First Citizens Bank

Role Description

This is a remote role that may only be hired in the following location(s): Arizona, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina or Texas.

We are looking for a Senior Node/React Engineer to help design and build Information Reporting Pages of our Online Banking application. The ideal candidate should have the necessary skills and experience to provide technical guidance, estimation of efforts, understanding and decide upon the optimal technology solution to achieve the desired business needs.

• Excellent communication skills with IT management, individual contributors, and business stakeholders
• Provide day-to-day application support
• Deliver requests rapidly and navigate resource constraints
• Develop code and oversee distributed development team members

Responsibilities

• Join an Agile pod of developers and automation engineers supported by a product manager and scrum master
• Collaborate with Product and business owners to understand the business domain & products
• Spend most of your time on system design while maintaining hands-on implementation activities
• Gain solid hands-on knowledge of client-facing web application, microservices, data architecture, and databases
• Become a subject matter expert in one or more technical environments
• Estimate large features and releases as needed
• Break down large feature sets for team understanding and successful implementation
• Drive technical designs to consensus and approval by Architecture Review Team
• Design and develop enterprise solutions for specific business needs

• Perform impact analysis of proposed changes on existing architecture and technology solutions
• Identify additional solution options or trade-offs and their cost/benefit implications
• Conduct group training sessions or lunch and learns
• Refresh old processes and document updates
• Identify opportunities for refactoring and tech debt remediation
• Mentor junior engineers and guard code quality
• Participate in architecture and design discussions
• Help mentor team members in large scale feature planning
• Express knowledge confidently during code reviews
• Drive to learn new things and improve oneself
• Accept feedback with eagerness to learn

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Software application development and maintenance OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Software application development and maintenance

• 6+ years of Front End/UI focused Software Engineer experience
• Solid experience with React 16+, Redux, Mobx Store Management, Node.js, Typescript, ES6, CSS3, CSS Preprocessors, Grid Layout Knowledge, Jest Test
• Very well versed and practical experience with Agile/Iterative delivery methodologies
• Deep love of building elegant, maintainable, well-documented, secure code
• Ability to influence architecture and design
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot production issues
• Experience with TDD and CICD delivery
• Experience with distributed systems and Micro-services architecture
• Hands-on experience with RESTful web services, web applications, transactional databases
• Experience with enterprise integration services/solutions
• Experience and exposure to API gateways
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Gitlab, Docker and Jenkins
• Bonus points for experience with regulated financial organizations
