Role Description

As the Senior Staff Software Engineer (offering title Director of Eng), You Will be Responsible for:

• ERP Data Management: Implementing connectors to fetch and store ERP data, ensuring high availability and efficient, secure storage.
• Email Processing Management: Owning the reliability and scalability of large-scale email processing systems, maintaining tens of millions of email accounts, and ensuring timely delivery of hundreds of millions of emails.
• Business and Technology/Engineering Liaison: Understanding business requirements and designing technical solutions that bridge the gap between business needs and technical implementation.
• Backend API Mastery: Implementing or upgrading backend APIs to meet evolving customer requirements.
• System Maintenance and Architecture Champion: Maintaining existing services, deploying improvements, and building new foundational components.
• Global Team Player: Collaborating with teams in the US, Singapore, India, and China, and being flexible with work hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline from a top-tier (Tier 1/2) institution.
• 12+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• Deep understanding of computer science fundamentals with core data structures and advanced algorithms.
• Excellent in one of the following languages: Python / Golang / Java (Python is the most preferred).
• Proficiency with messaging platforms (Kafka, RMQ, SQS) and relational/NoSQL datastores (MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB, Cassandra, ScyllaDB, HBase, Redis, Aerospike, etc.).
• Experience in architecture and developing large-scale distributed systems.
• Familiarity with microservice architecture, API gateway patterns, and service observability (logging, tracing, metrics).
• Proven track record building and operating systems with strict latency and reliability requirements in 24/7 environments.
• Strong architectural expertise with modern backend stacks (Go, Python, Java, Node.js) and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure, Kubernetes/Docker).
• Excellent logic analysis capabilities.
• Strong ownership, self-motivation, and ability to deliver independently while collaborating effectively.
• Experience leading small engineering initiatives or mentoring junior developers (20%).
• Ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts and org-wide strategies.

Requirements

• Knowledge of security best practices, authentication/authorization, and performance tuning for high-traffic systems (nice to have).
• Knowledge of AI agent/harness, focusing on how to use AI to improve work efficiency or restructure work patterns (nice to have).
• Experience with DevOps practices (nice to have).
