[Hiring] Senior Staff Engineer – .NET @GEICO

Role Description

Provide technical and thought leadership to the Technology enterprise. Collaborate with product managers, team members, customers, and other engineering teams to solve our toughest problems.

• Develop and execute technical software development strategy for .Net and other domains.
• Hold accountability for the quality, usability, and performance of the solutions.
• Utilize programming languages/databases and a variety of Azure tools and services across the Software Development Lifecycle.
• Act as a role model and mentor, helping to coach and strengthen the technical expertise and know-how of our engineering and product community.
• Influence and educate executives.
• Share best practices and improve processes within and across teams.
• Analyze cost and forecast, incorporating them into business plans.
• Determine and support resource requirements, evaluate operational processes, measure outcomes to ensure desired results, demonstrate adaptability, and sponsor continuous learning.
• May require pre-hire technical screen.
• Telecommuting is permitted from anywhere in the U.S.
• Multiple positions open.
• Salary: $195,000 to $260,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field of study.
• Ten (10) years of experience as Software Engineer, or related occupation.
• Ten (10) years of experience with Software Development within .NET framework.
• Seven (7) years of experience with building the architecture and design of new and current systems.
• Five (5) years of experience with DevOps Concepts, Cloud Architecture, and Azure DevOps Operational Framework; and Cloud Engineering.
• Four (4) years of experience with Azure Network; and Open source frameworks or one of the following: .net Core, asp.Net, Angular, or Express.
• Three (3) years of experience with people management or team leadership experience.
