[Hiring] Senior Software Engineer, Tech Lead @Talkspace

Role Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer, Tech Lead to join our Engineering team. The Senior Software Engineer, Tech Lead is responsible for leading software engineering teams to successfully develop and implement features, troubleshoot technical challenges, and manage product releases. This role involves:

• Planning large tasks and delegating work effectively.
• Ensuring high code quality through rigorous pull request reviews.
• Delivering complex, production-ready features to QA.
• Addressing roadblocks with persistence and collaborating with team members to solve problems.
• Mentoring junior engineers and supporting hiring and training.
• Driving continuous improvements in code quality, system health, and QA practices.
• Fostering transparency within the team and communicating technical decisions clearly.
• Working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and successful project completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math.
• 6+ years of professional experience working in both React and Node.js.
• 5+ years of professional experience in software development.
• 3+ years of experience supporting teams or collaborating with subject matter experts.
• Strong technical expertise and understanding of industry trends.

Requirements

• Proficient in at least one area of coding (backend, frontend, devops).
• Capable of reviewing code efficiently and providing constructive feedback.
• Demonstrates a big-picture viewpoint with a strong understanding of business problems.
• Maintains a high contribution rate to the codebase and actively addresses bugs.
• Holds end-to-end responsibility for getting features production-ready.
• Advocates for and enforces proper QA practices across projects.
