• Reviews - Allows both guests and hosts to recognize and keep each other accountable.

• Standards - Escalates education and enforcement when poor feedback is received.
• Insights - Provides accurate data to hosts about their performance and opportunities.

• Involved from the early days of redefining the Reviews space for Airbnb.
• Projects may focus on specific layers or require fluid movement across the stack.

A Typical Day:

• Work with cross-functional partners (product managers, legal, etc.) to design and deliver high-quality products.
• Create paved paths and best practices within the reviews, standards, and insights space.
• Define technical strategy and lead the architecture, build, and launch of solutions.
• Work outside of your usual comfort zone and show motivation for personal growth.
• Influence and align stakeholders across teams and organizations on technical direction.
• Build efficient and backend solutions that are reliable, performant, and scalable.
• Collaborate with team members and cross-functional partners to define product definitions and roadmaps.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of full-time work experience in software engineering, information technology, or related domains.
• Proven track record of defining technical direction and owning architecture for large-scale, complex production systems.
• Ability to drive technical strategy and make architectural decisions that span multiple teams and systems.
• Experience mentoring and growing engineers, and influencing technical decisions across teams and organizations.
• Experience with service-oriented architecture.
• Experience with Agentic Coding tools.
• Proficiency in one or more backend server languages (Ruby/Java/Kotlin) and popular storage systems (relational databases, NoSQL, caching).
• Breadth of knowledge in reviews and metrics domain is a plus.

Location

• This position is US - Remote Eligible.
• May include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites.
• Must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.

Benefits

• Base pay range: $196,000 — $227,000 USD.
• Role may be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
