Role Description

Life360 is hiring an AI-Native Senior Software Engineer II — a senior engineer who doesn't just use AI tools, but thinks natively in them. You'll be central to how the Verticals team builds products, where AI has reshaped how the entire team designs, builds, and ships.

• Design and build features for aging parents who want to stay safely connected with their families.
• Build and evolve modern AI-Native engineering workflows.
• Publish AI-native engineering playbooks for the broader Verticals organization.
• Take full ownership of what you build from the first line of code through production.
• Full-stack experience is strongly preferred.
• Success in the first year includes shipping end-to-end features for the Aging in Place segment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and operating high-quality, consumer-scale services.
• 1+ years of hands-on experience prompting, evaluating, and building with LLMs.
• Full-stack proficiency spanning backend services and mobile client development (iOS and/or Android).
• Deep experience with agentic workflows, prompt engineering, context window management, and MCP/function calling.
• A track record of using AI tooling to multiply your own output.
• A strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• A genuine excitement for defining what it means to be AI-Native.
• Empathy for the humans behind the product.
• Bachelor's Degree in a Technical field, or equivalent experience.

Requirements

• Daily use of AI coding assistants for substantive tasks.
• Accountability for AI-generated code.
• Ability to operate with meaningful leverage using AI.
• Share effective strategies and help teammates with AI workflow adoption.
• Stay current with changing tooling and bring recommendations to the team.
