[Hiring] Senior Software Engineer @Ford

Role Description

• Design, develop, maintain, and support multiple mission-critical cloud platform components that enable Ford’s connected vehicle capabilities.
• Own end-to-end delivery of software services powering critical customer experiences, as well as the platform infrastructure that supports them.
• Act as a domain owner for critical services, proactively identifying and mitigating risks, leading root-cause analysis for high-severity incidents, and driving long-term reliability, observability, and performance improvements across the platform.
• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance for complex, distributed systems within the device connectivity platform.
• Mentor other engineers, contribute to technical reviews, knowledge sharing, and best practices.
• Partner closely with product, operations, and cross-platform teams to align technical execution with business and regulatory priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical work experience.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience designing, building, and operating production-grade distributed microservices.
• 8+ years of experience with Java and Spring Boot development.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Kafka and real-time data streaming architectures.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, primarily AWS with openness/exposure to GCP.
• 3+ years of experience with API design and development (REST, gRPC, JSON, OpenAPI/Swagger).
• 3+ years of experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and CI/CD pipelines (ArgoCD, Concourse, GitHub).
• 3+ years of operational experience with monitoring, telemetry, and incident response tools (Grafana, Dynatrace, DataDog, OpenTelemetry, VictoriaMetrics, Prometheus, PagerDuty).
