Role Description

We are looking for a Senior Software Developer to join the team that builds the Server Side of our Slingshot App. Slingshot is a data-driven SaaS work management platform that unifies project management, analytics, collaboration, and goal tracking into a single powerful product. We help teams move faster by connecting insights directly to the work so decisions become actions. Our server-side infrastructure powers real-time data synchronization.

As a Senior Software Developer, you'll join our core engineering team. You will own the design, development, and maintenance of our backend systems — from API architecture to database optimization to infrastructure reliability. You will collaborate closely with Product Management, Frontend teams, and DevOps to deliver features that are fast, secure, and built to scale. This is a senior individual contributor role with high ownership and real influence over our technical direction.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and maintain robust, high-performance server-side APIs and microservices
• Architect scalable data models and optimize database queries across relational and NoSQL systems
• Contribute to our data pipeline and analytics infrastructure supporting real-time business intelligence features
• Design and enforce API versioning, rate limiting, and authentication/authorization systems
• Write clean, well-tested code with a focus on unit, integration, and end-to-end test coverage
• Conduct and participate in thorough code reviews, upholding engineering standards across the team
• Implement security best practices including data encryption, input validation, and compliance with SOC 2 and GDPR requirements
• Partner with Product and Frontend teams to translate requirements into reliable, scalable technical designs
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, sharing knowledge through code reviews and technical guidance
• Contribute to architectural decisions and help evolve our technical roadmap

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional backend/server-side software development experience
• Deep proficiency in C#/.NET
• Strong experience with MongoDB
• Experience with cloud platforms — AWS or Azure — including serverless and containerized deployments
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong grasp of software engineering fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, distributed systems
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment

Requirements

• Experience building SaaS products with multi-tenant architecture
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
• Background in analytics, BI tooling, or data pipeline development
• Prior experience with enterprise software integrations (OAuth, webhooks, third-party APIs)
