[Hiring] Senior Manager, Back End Engineering @Quanata

Role Description

As a Senior Manager, Back End Engineering, you’ll lead a team of engineers responsible for the core policy, billing, and financial ledger platforms that support key product and operational initiatives at Quanata.

• Combine people leadership with technical and architectural guidance.
• Help improve team operations, including engineering processes and capacity planning.
• Work closely with Product Management, Program Management, and engineering leaders.
• Align technical execution with broader business goals.
• Coach and develop mid-level, senior, and staff engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 8–10 years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years of engineering management experience.
• Experience with personnel development and performance management.
• Project management experience.
• Experience with sprint and roadmap planning, capacity modeling, and resourcing.
• Strong technical architecture fluency, with a focus on back end systems.
• Strong enterprise partnership and stakeholder management skills.
• Executive-ready written communication skills.

Requirements

• Experience in a financial sector such as insurance, banking, or investing.
• Experience with AI-assisted engineering practices, including spec-driven development, context and harness engineering, and autonomous agentic workflows.
• Familiarity with technologies used by the team, including Go, Python, TypeScript, GraphQL, gRPC, Postgres, Mongo, Snowflake, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
