Role Description

We’re looking for a Senior Unreal Game Engineer to join our small, passionate team building an upcoming mobile adventure game, backed by Supercell and built in Unreal Engine 5. This is a hands-on engineering role with significant ownership.

• Spend most of your time building game features.
• Work closely with design to turn ideas into responsive, polished player experiences.
• Shape the technical foundations underneath game features to scale and evolve with a mobile live-service game.
• Make sound architectural decisions that hold up in production.
• Focus on building robust foundations without adding unnecessary complexity.
• Make pragmatic technical decisions and identify risks early.
• Help the team build features that are performant, maintainable, and appropriate for the project stage.
• Influence technical approaches across the project and understand how different parts of the game fit together.
• Comfortable taking ambiguous problems and creating structure without layers of process.
• Enjoy building games hands-on while helping a small team make stronger technical decisions.

Qualifications

• Significant professional game development experience.
• Deep hands-on expertise in Unreal Engine, C++, and Blueprint.
• Experience building and shipping gameplay features and game systems on one or more Unreal titles.
• Strong architectural and systems thinking with a player-first mindset.
• Strong Unreal-specific judgment.
• Excellent judgment around technical trade-offs.
• Comfortable thinking across the wider technical picture of a game.
• A confident, collaborative communicator.
• Comfortable taking ownership of loosely defined problems.
• Open and proactive about using AI-assisted development tools.

Requirements

• Experience mentoring, pairing with, or informally guiding other engineers.
• Experience with procedural or generative content systems in Unreal.
• Experience shipping or scaling a live-service game.
• Mobile game development experience.
• Mobile performance optimization experience.
• Experience working effectively in a small studio or high-ownership engineering environment.

Location

We are open-minded in considering applicants from EU, UK, or Canada, but will strongly prefer candidates from Finland or Canada. All of our team members work remote regardless of their location.
