[Hiring] Senior Full Stack Software Engineer @Humana

Role Description

Become a part of our caring community at Humana, a Fortune 100 healthcare technology leader. We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our team and help shape the Future of PBM Technology. In this role, you will:

• Build a brand-new Pharmacy Benefits application.
• Modernize legacy components, improve resilience and performance, and enhance backend workflow.
• Ensure efficient assignment of benefits and adjudication of claims.
• Work remotely during Eastern Standard Time business hours.

Your mission is to leverage industry best practices in software development, system architecture, and technical leadership to deliver reliable and compliant solutions, including:

• Providing hands-on expertise in new development and ongoing maintenance.
• Utilizing technologies such as .Net/react, PySpark, Databricks, and cloud services (e.g., Azure or GCP).
• Promoting cross-team collaboration, facilitating knowledge transfer, and minimizing operational risks.

Senior Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Providing technical leadership and mentorship to development teams.
• Participating in and reviewing project plans, solution designs, and other critical artifacts.
• Conducting analysis of business requirements to ensure accurate understanding and alignment.
• Developing detailed low-level designs and contributing to the vision of solution artifacts.
• Participating in daily stand-up meetings with stakeholders and development teams.
• Collaborating with team members to track and plan Agile work.
• Standardizing quality assurance processes and overseeing testing and debugging.
• Collaborating with front-end, back-end, and infrastructure groups on high-quality solutions.
• Partnering with internal architecture and other enterprise teams.
• Developing and delivering proofs-of-concept (POCs) and sample implementations.
• Working with senior leadership to influence project timelines and deliverables.
• Using AI tools to accelerate code scaffolding, test automation, migrations, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• 5 or more years of experience designing, developing, and testing software applications and/or infrastructure.
• Front-End: Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.
• Back-End: Knowledge of server-side languages .Net, .Net Core or .Net Framework 7.0 and higher.
• Databases: Experience with relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL), and Databricks, Azure Data Lake databases.
• API Development: Extensive experience with RESTful APIs and knowledge of Chasis framework.
• DevOps & Tools: Proficiency in Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and familiarity with CI/CD methodology.
• Event Driven: Experience with Event Driven systems.
• Cloud Services: Familiarity with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure.

Requirements

• Master's Degree (preferred).
• Experience in Pharmacy Benefits Management (preferred).
• To ensure effective work from home, self-provided internet service must meet:
• A minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps.
• Wireless, wired cable, or DSL connection is suggested.
• Satellite, cellular, and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.
• Employees in California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will receive a bi-weekly payment for internet expenses.
• Humana will provide telephone equipment appropriate for business requirements.
• Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Pay Range

The compensation range reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full-time (40 hours per week) employment:

$106,900 - $147,000 per year. This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on performance.
