Role Description

The new Forward Deployed Engineering Team within the Data and Insights Organization in WMG Global Tech is a specialized capability that focuses on solving a diverse range of problems across our business. This team will partner with our Product Solutions team and work with our key business stakeholders across Warner Music Group to rapidly build and deploy automation and solutions using data and AI. If you love working directly with customers on a variety of different problems while using world-class data platforms to create awesome solutions, and you’ve got strong software engineering and data fundamentals, this role might be a great fit.

We are seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to join our organization. As an FDE, you will work directly with our most important business stakeholders across labels and global functions to deliver rapid solutions leveraging data and AI. Strong candidates will thrive when partnering with non-technical customers, have great product instincts, lots of empathy, and can intersect AI solutions with their pain points to turn painful tasks that take weeks into workflows that take minutes.

This role entails full stack solution engineering, including:

• Data pipelining and interop
• Backend development in Python
• Dashboard and Streamlit app development
• Leveraging Databricks and Snowflake AI tools such as Genie and Cortex

• Full-Stack Engineering: Ability to flex across backend, frontend, data pipelines, AI tools, Python, React.
• AI Solutions Delivery: Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to design, build, and deploy production solutions to accelerate non-technical stakeholders.
• Product Sense and Impact: Ability to rapidly understand and develop a solution without having curated requirements.
• Empathy and Customer Communication: Strong ability to communicate in non-technical language to stakeholders from entry to executive level.
• AI Solutions Engineering: Familiarity working with AI tools such as Gemini, Cortex Code, and Genie Code.
• Be Curious and Adaptable: Eager to explore new technologies and flex across a variety of problems and domains.
• Stay Aligned: Proven ability to contribute to standards and leverage existing tools and systems.
• Architecture Standards & Playbooks: Demonstrated expertise in establishing system frameworks and drafting technical guidelines.
• Reusable Assets Contribution: Strong background in modular architectures, ensuring custom-built implementations are published as reusable internal marketplace assets.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years of software engineering experience.
• Exposure to customers and experience with Python.
• Experience with data pipelining (e.g., ETL) and either Snowflake and/or Databricks.
• Experience with Genie Code or Cortex Code, Notebooks, and Streamlit.

Benefits

• Base salary of $112,000 - $165,000 CAD.
• Eligible for a performance-based annual bonus.
