Role Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Crystal Report Developer with experience in Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), preferably Labware, to support the development of laboratory testing reports for oilfield operations. This role is critical to consolidating analytical results into clear, accurate, and printable reports that can be seamlessly accessed within Labware.

• Build and optimize Crystal Reports used to present oilfield Laboratory test results, QC data, and sample metadata.
• Develop reports that are print-ready, user-friendly, and fully integrated with Labware.
• Implement data logic, formulas, grouping, and conditional formatting to support reporting requirements.
• Connect Crystal Reports to Labware data structures, views, and queries.
• Validate data mapping between Labware and report outputs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10+ years of professional experience in Crystal Reports development.
• Direct experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is mandatory; specific experience with LabWare is highly preferred.
• Expert-level proficiency in SQL Server (specifically querying existing tables and views).
• Crystal Reports: Mastery of formulas, conditional formatting, and complex grouping.
• Must be a high-level independent contributor. The role requires no hand-holding and the ability to operate separately from the core LabWare developers.
• No degree is required, provided the 10+ years of technical experience is met.

Requirements

• Prior AWS experience is a plus!
• Industry experience (Oil and Gas) is a huge plus!

Interview Process

• 1 ROUND IV ONLY - 1 hour Team's interview with Lucas and his crystal report expert resource based in India.
• IV times: Monday - Friday 7am-11am CST.

Day-to-day Responsibilities

• Database Mapping: Perform manual table mapping (typically across 20+ fields) by running tests to ensure data flows correctly from the SQL Server backend into the report templates.
• Report Development: Build and maintain custom reports for various laboratory test types, including summary reports for active lab wells and sample metadata.
• SQL Querying: Write and execute complex T-SQL queries against existing SQL Server tables to extract raw laboratory and well data.
• Trend Analysis: Identify data patterns and trends within the laboratory results to ensure reports are providing meaningful insights to management.
• Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the internal team to test report outputs for 100% accuracy and "print-ready" formatting.
• Validation: Perform rigorous data mapping validation to ensure the information in LabWare perfectly aligns with the output in the Crystal Report.
