[Hiring] Senior C#/Unity Engineer @PlayQ

Role Description

We’re looking for a Senior C#/Unity Engineer to help build and shape our newest mobile game from the ground up. This is a high-impact role where you’ll have direct ownership over core game systems, features, performance, and technical decisions that will influence how the game is built, optimized, and shipped.

Working closely with the CTO, Product, and a small, high-caliber team, you’ll have the opportunity to:

• Drive Technical Development: Own the development of core game systems and features, from technical design through implementation and delivery.
• Own Engineering Outcomes: Take ownership of technical areas and features end-to-end, proactively identifying what needs to be done.
• Optimize the Player Experience: Profile, troubleshoot, and optimize game performance across a wide range of mobile devices.
• Build for Mobile: Develop and optimize experiences for iOS and Android.
• Solve & Improve: Identify technical bottlenecks and implement practical solutions.
• Accelerate with AI: Leverage AI tools to improve development velocity.
• Partner Cross-Functionally: Work closely with the CTO, Product, and other disciplines.
• Elevate Engineering Quality: Establish and maintain clean, maintainable code.
• Enable the Team: Share knowledge and mentor other engineers.
• Adapt & Deliver: Navigate evolving priorities while ensuring high-quality features are delivered on time.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional game development experience, including hands-on experience building and shipping mobile games.
• Strong expertise in Unity3D and C#, with a deep understanding of game development patterns and engineering best practices.
• Proven experience developing and optimizing Unity games for iOS and Android.
• Strong experience profiling and optimizing mobile game performance.
• A strong sense of ownership and the ability to take a problem from identification through solution and delivery.
• A practical, analytical approach to technical challenges.
• Comfortable working in a fast-changing environment.
• Comfortable using AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or similar technologies.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and cross-functional partners in English.

Requirements

• Prior experience in mobile gaming, especially with match-3, casual, or F2P games.
• Experience taking a mobile game from development through launch and supporting it through live development.
• Experience with additional programming languages, technologies, or game development frameworks.
• Experience working in a small, fast-moving, or startup-like environment.
