[Hiring] Senior Backend Engineer @Journaway Gmbh

Role Description

Our platform runs on .NET microservices. How those services are cut, how data flows between them, and how they reach production is decided by the people who build them — and we'd like you to be one of them.

You'll work closely with our software architects, product owners, and fellow developers:

• Code reviews
• Pair programming
• Technical decisions that stick around

Your mission:

• Design and build microservices in C# and .NET Core 10 that carry our core business processes.
• Own the data model: schemas in Postgres, caching in Redis where it pays off, reliable messaging over RabbitMQ.
• Take services to production and keep the CI/CD pipeline fast enough that nobody avoids it.
• Catch bottlenecks, security risks, and failure modes before users do.
• Push for clean code and automated testing, and share knowledge.
• Use coding agents as part of your daily workflow — directing their work, reviewing their output, and fixing what doesn't hold up.

Qualifications

• Several years building backend services in C# and .NET.
• Experience with microservice architectures and running Postgres, Redis, and RabbitMQ in production.
• Knowledge of architecture principles, performance optimization, and secure scalability.
• Ability to work well in agile teams (Scrum/Kanban).
• Clear writing skills and comfort in English.
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent experience.

Requirements

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (not a requirement).
