Role Description

Position: Ruby Developer

Location: 100% remote - EST hours

Duration: 3 months to start - long-term will extend until 2024

Interview Process: Video interview

Qualifications

• 2+ years' of prior experience developing applications with Ruby on Rails
• Familiarity with Geospatial Data is required
• GeoBlacklight experience ideal - ability to learn
• Experience deploying to the Cloud environment (AWS preferred)
• Understanding of the OAuth 2.0 standard for authentication
• Understanding of JavaScript, Bootstrap, PostGIS or similar frameworks
• Familiarity with GeoServer and Apache/Nginx web server management (certificates, ports, DNS)
• Comfortable with Linux command line utilities and standard Git best practices
• Experience cleaning and optimizing data in various forms
• Domain - Academia

Requirements

• Experience with Tomcat, Solr, PostgreSQL, MySQL (Nice to Have)
• Familiarity with Geospatial metadata, Geospatial files (shapefile, geodatabase, Lidar data) (Nice to Have)
