[Hiring] Principal Mobile Engineer @Modus Create

Role Description

We are looking for a Principal Mobile Engineer with deep expertise in Flutter and/or React Native to architect and build high-quality, cross-platform mobile products. You’ll combine hands-on mobile engineering with technical leadership, working closely with clients, product teams, designers, and engineers to take products from concept and architecture through development and successful store deployment.

We’re particularly interested in mobile engineers who are embracing the next generation of software development—using AI-assisted and agentic coding tools to accelerate delivery, improve quality, and build intelligent capabilities directly into mobile products.

Qualifications

• Extensive professional experience building and delivering production-grade mobile applications.
• Deep expertise in Flutter and/or React Native and the surrounding cross-platform mobile ecosystem.
• Strong understanding of mobile application architecture, including scalability, performance, maintainability, and reliability.
• Proven experience taking mobile products through the full development lifecycle, from architecture and implementation through App Store and Google Play deployment.
• Experience serving as a Tech Lead, Principal Engineer, or senior technical owner for complex mobile initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of TypeScript/JavaScript for React Native specialists and Dart for Flutter specialists.
• Experience integrating mobile applications with REST APIs, backend services, third-party SDKs, authentication systems, and cloud services.
• Strong understanding of mobile testing strategies, code quality, performance optimization, monitoring, and release stability.
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications.
• Hands-on experience incorporating AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar technologies into engineering workflows.
• Understanding of how Generative AI and LLM capabilities can be integrated into modern mobile product experiences.
• Ability to make pragmatic architectural decisions and balance innovation with performance, maintainability, and user experience.
• Strong communication and consulting skills, with the ability to collaborate directly with clients and translate business and product requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Ability to mentor other engineers, establish technical direction, and raise mobile engineering standards while remaining actively involved in delivery.

Requirements

• Experience building AI-powered mobile products or integrating Generative AI/LLM capabilities into mobile applications.
• Experience with agentic coding workflows, MCP, AI agents, or LLM-based development tooling.
• Experience with both Flutter and React Native.
• Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms and cloud-native backend services.
• Full-stack experience with technologies such as Node.js, React, Next.js, or similar frameworks.
• Experience with mobile technologies and tooling such as Expo/EAS, Firebase, native modules, or platform-specific SDKs.
• Experience building or integrating complex customer-facing features such as payments, notifications, analytics, search, authentication, or real-time experiences.
• Experience modernizing or migrating legacy mobile applications to modern cross-platform architectures.
