[Hiring] Principal Engineer, Frontend @Trojan Trading

Role Description

We are looking for a Principal Frontend Engineer with deep, broad experience around building highly performant, real-time, interactive frontends for trading-focused web apps. You will play a key role and be expected to be a subject matter expert in this area for Trojan Trading. Our Founders and team will lean heavily on your past experience as a First-or-Founding Engineering to propel Trojan Trading as we expand our offerings and grow our user base.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, Build, and Maintain:
  • Create, develop, and maintain a responsive and user-centric web app with React/NextJS, TypeScript, and Jotai.
• Own and Take Initiative:
  • Own new features, improve existing features, and take initiative in the iterative development process of Trojan Trading products.
• Optimize for Speed:
  • Implement best practices to maintain the app’s fast and responsive performance, especially on mobile devices.
• Problem-Solve with Impact:
  • Tackle complex challenges with effective, innovative solutions that enhance user experience.
• Champion Code Quality:
  • Ensure clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, contributing to a sustainable development environment.
• Engage in Real-Time Features:
  • Support the integration of real-time data and enhance user interactions for trading functionalities.

Qualifications

• Founder, First Engineer, or Lead experience at a significant, reputable DeFi project building with React/NextJS, Typescript, and Jotai.
• Must have experience where you have owned and built the frontend of a real-time, highly interactive trading platform.
• Proven ability to work independently and take initiative with a proactive mindset to push tasks forward.
• Must have experience working alongside leadership and founders to make key decisions about the frontend of a trading web app including, but not limited to, tech stack, product design, and feature design.
• Expertise in creating fast, dynamic and optimized web interfaces.
• Comfort with real-time data handling and websocket management.
• Adept at identifying potential challenges or improvements and implementing effective solutions promptly.
• Strong ability to articulate ideas and collaborate effectively with team members.
• A genuine curiosity and understanding of cryptocurrency and trading trends.
• We look for people who take deep pride and responsibility in the products they build.
• Strong communication skills to work effectively within a cross-functional team.
• Experience working within a mid-sized engineer team.

Nice-To-Haves

• Passion or experience in on-chain trading; being a part-time trader on Solana is a plus.

Compensation/Culture

The overall market range for roles at Trojan Trading is typically $300k - $500k annually. This market range is based on total compensation. Trojan Trading has a culture that is built upon meritocracy, high-intensity output, and personal growth.
