Role Description

We are looking for an experienced Oracle Retail Developer to join our team on a 3-month contract. The successful candidate will work remotely from India, supporting retail technology initiatives for an international client. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Oracle Retail applications, Oracle PL/SQL, and UNIX/Linux, with the ability to develop, support, troubleshoot, and enhance Oracle Retail solutions in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain Oracle Retail applications.
• Design, develop, and optimise Oracle PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and triggers.
• Perform application support, defect analysis, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
• Develop and maintain UNIX shell scripts for automation and batch processing.
• Analyse business and technical requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Support batch jobs, interfaces, and data integrations.
• Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards and best practices.
• Work closely with business analysts, functional consultants, and project managers.
• Participate in unit testing, system integration testing (SIT), and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Prepare technical documentation and deployment plans.
• Provide production support and assist with release deployments when required.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of experience in Oracle Retail application development.
• Strong expertise in Oracle PL/SQL development.
• Strong UNIX/Linux administration and shell scripting skills.
• Experience writing complex SQL queries and performance tuning.
• Experience with Oracle database design and optimisation.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working with batch processing and file-based integrations.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Oracle Retail Experience

• Experience with one or more of the following Oracle Retail applications is highly desirable:
• Oracle Retail Merchandising System (RMS)
• Oracle Retail Invoice Matching (ReIM)
• Oracle Retail Price Management (RPM)
• Oracle Retail Sales Audit (ReSA)
• Oracle Retail Allocation
• Oracle Retail Store Inventory Management (SIM)
• Oracle Retail Integration Bus (RIB)
• Oracle Retail Merchandise Financial Planning (MFP)

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
