Job Title: Mobile App Developer (Flutter & React Native) 

Department: Engineering
Reports To: Director of Engineering 

Location: Remote in US.; based in Columbus, OH 

Compensation:
The base salary range for this position is $110,000.00 to $125,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for an end-of-year performance-based bonus. 

Compensation is determined based on factors such as location, relevant experience, and qualifications. Candidates in higher cost-of-living areas or with exceptional expertise may fall above this range. 

Position Overview 

The Mobile App Developer (Flutter & React Native) will play a pivotal role in transforming Ivim Health’s mobile experience, maintaining our current Flutter application while contributing directly to its future in React Native. This is a hands-on engineering role for a developer who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys solving complex problems, and excels at building smooth, delightful mobile experiences. 

You’ll operate as a full-stack mobile engineer across both ecosystems, supporting feature development, improving app performance, and building new React Native modules that will gradually replace existing Flutter implementations. In the near term, you’ll integrate React Native features into the Flutter app using web views, native bridges, and hybrid patterns; long-term, you’ll help drive a phased migration toward a fully React Native codebase. 

This role will maintain our existing Flutter application while building React Native components that will be embedded via hybrid patterns and eventually replace Flutter code. You will also collaborate with backend and web teams to ensure feature parity and maintain a consistent experience across all platforms. 

The ideal candidate is adaptable, collaborative, and comfortable shipping production-ready code in both frameworks. Key Responsibilities 

Dual Codebase Ownership 

• Maintain, enhance, and optimize Ivim’s current Flutter mobile application
• Support the long-term migration from Flutter to React Native
• Build React Native components and features that work seamlessly alongside Flutter
• Integrate React Native modules via web views, native bridges, and hybrid patterns
• Ensure feature and API parity across mobile, web, and backend systems

Feature Development & UI/UX Implementation 

• Implement new features from concept to production across both Flutter and React Native
• Build intuitive, responsive UI aligned with product and design specifications
• Improve app navigation, user flows, and in-app performance
• Support accessibility and ensure cross-platform consistency across iOS and Android

Performance, Reliability & Quality 

• Optimize load times, animations, network performance, and state management
• Troubleshoot production issues and collaborate with support and QA
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and release planning
• Support CI/CD workflows for mobile builds, deployments, and updates

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

• Partner with backend engineers to integrate REST APIs and maintain seamless data flow
• Collaborate with product, design, and web teams to ensure parity between mobile and web experiences
• Align functionality with clinical, compliance, and operational requirements
• Contribute to documentation, technical planning, and roadmap execution

Qualifications 

Education & Experience 

• 3+ years of professional mobile development experience
• Professional experience with Flutter & Dart
• Professional experience with React Native and JavaScript or TypeScript
• Proven experience shipping apps to both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store
• Experience integrating REST APIs and modern mobile architecture
• Strong understanding of navigation patterns, state management, and mobile app architecture
• Experience working across both iOS and Android

Technical Skills 

• Proficiency in Flutter, Dart, React Native, JavaScript/TypeScript
• Experience with embedded/hybrid mobile patterns (web views, native modules)
• Experience with mobile debugging, analytics, and performance optimization tools
• Familiarity with Git-based workflows and branching strategies

Nice to Have 

• Experience with Swift (iOS) or Kotlin (Android)
• Experience integrating web views or hybrid mobile architectures
• Familiarity with Apple HealthKit and Android Health Connect (permissions, syncing, metric collection)
• Experience working in healthcare, wellness, or consumer application environments
• Experience with mobile CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with React for web applications

Success in the First 90 Days 

Month 1 – Assess & Stabilize 

• Review Flutter architecture, code health, and release processes
• Understand React Native scaffolding, patterns, and migration plan
• Ship your first small features in both codebases
• Set up local environment, CI/CD access, and testing frameworks
• Identify near-term reliability or performance wins

Month 2 – Build & Integrate 

• Build and integrate new React Native components inside the Flutter app
• Implement UI updates and feature work across both frameworks
• Triage and resolve bugs surfaced by QA or support
• Work with backend engineers to integrate new API endpoints
• Provide recommendations for long-term scalability

Month 3 – Own & Optimize 

• Take ownership of feature development in both Flutter and React Native
• Improve performance (load time, responsiveness, crash reduction)
• Support rollout of the next phase of React Native integration
• Deliver measurable improvements in the mobile user experience
• Present technical insights and migration proposals to engineering leadership
