[Hiring] MES Consultant @Engineering Group

Role Description

Engineering Industries eXcellence is looking for a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Consultant focused on different aspects of Siemens Opcenter implementations for Discrete & Process Manufacturing industries. Such tasks may include:

• Developing & troubleshooting MES implementation logic/front-end logic (e.g. integration with 3rd Party systems such as ERP and automation)
• Overall support of system modifications
• Identifying implementing risks working with the service manager
• Identifying security/performance issues, potential weaknesses in applications and suggesting possible solutions

Responsibilities:

• Work in conjunction with the service manager to define project tasks, identify task duration
• Report to service manager on task advancement
• Capable of working independently under the guidance of technical leads
• Capable of understanding and troubleshooting technical issues related to software development, conflict in branches and releases, and engineering tasks
• Apply project best practices and support changes that can streamline operations
• Knowledgeable of testing/validation processes, including building the validation tests (Test Specification/Validation Specification document)
• Work with the service manager in executing unit tests, regression tests, integration tests, and functional tests
• Train/coach end-users on MES solutions and help in driving solution acceptance

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Siemens Opcenter Execution Discrete
• Experience with MES interface with 3rd party systems like automation systems (e.g. DeltaV, Siemens PCS7, Siemens SIMATIC Batch, Rockwell PLCs/SCADA)
• Proficiency in programming languages (C#, Java, C++, VBA/VBScript, Python)
• Mendix Programming experience
• Knowledge of software release management on multiple environments (e.g. DEV, QA, PROD) including handling of pool requests, merge operations, solution building, deployment, unit testing, regression testing
• Experience with Team Foundation Server and/or Jira is strongly recommended
• Previous Application Management Services (AMS) Support experience
• Comfortable working in a 24x7 support model
• Strong ability to work in teams, even when the team is virtual and most members work remotely
• Strong communication skills and ability to foster collaboration with other teams
• High degree of adaptability to learn new technologies as needed

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related discipline is required
• A strong background in MES and manufacturing processes of either Process or Discrete industries is also recommended
