[Hiring] Lead Software Engineer @Driftrock Limited

Role Description

The Driftrock engineering team is on the hunt for a Lead Software Engineer who will work directly with everyone in the company to continuously improve our product, drive technical innovation, and help scale our engineering capabilities.

• Take ownership of complex technical problems, leading the design and implementation of solutions
• Be an active leader within our engineering team, working together with the other developers and mentoring them to help them grow their skills in a productive and challenging environment
• Have a strong data-driven mindset when assessing the value that our work has for customers
• Act as a bridge between business requirements and technical implementation, ensuring we are building the right things the right way

Qualifications

• Strong backend experience (expert level in Elixir or similar languages) and some experience with frontend frameworks
• Experience leading technical initiatives, from architectural design to delivery
• Demonstrate a desire to continuously learn to improve your technical, communication and other soft skills
• Clear interest in leadership and management pathways; enjoy helping others succeed as much as shipping code
• Value and enjoy working in a small team, collaborating closely with other engineers as well as members of other teams
• Provide new and diverse viewpoints for technical and product discussions and be comfortable making (and standing by) technical decisions
• Interested in, and have a view on agile practices such as continuous delivery, TDD, pair programming, code reviews and retrospectives
• Strong track record of mentoring engineers and a proactive view on how to foster a high-performing, happy team
• Some experience mentoring engineers and a view on how to create a productive team
• Keen to ensure there is a high standard of quality and security in the software produced as a team
• Can work in the same timezone as the rest of the team (flexible)
