[Hiring] Lead Engineer — Payments Platform @Lumion

Role Description

You will lead the Payments team, and Lumion will hold you accountable for one thing above all: that payments work — correctly, reliably, every single time.

• Lead the Payments team.
• Ensure payments function correctly, reliably, and consistently.
• Have a significant influence on the payments product direction.
• Lead a team of senior engineers, setting the course and making key decisions.
• Engage directly with the code and the financial mechanics.

Qualifications

• Fintech experience — required.
• A love of the nitty-gritty of numbers.
• Deep Laravel and PHP expertise.
• A leader, not a babysitter.
• Product instincts and ownership.
• Fluent across the stack.
• A daily AI-native workflow.
• A shipping mindset.
• 8+ years of relevant engineering experience, including leadership.

Requirements

• Experience with real money-movement or payments systems in production.
• Ability to chase discrepancies until resolved.
• Hands-on experience with a large codebase.
• Strong decision-making and accountability skills.
• Fluency in front-end and back-end technologies.
• Experience with third-party API integration.
• Understanding of financial data and database design.
• Proficiency in agentic tooling for planning and development.
