We are seeking highly motivated, forward-thinking individuals to join and add value to our Security team as an IT Intern–Software Engineer . This position provides the perfect opportunity to gain experience and exposure in the cyber security field and general business.

As an IT Intern–Software Engineer , you will:

• Be mentored by subject matter experts on responsibilities such as application design and development.
• Participate in team initiatives and projects using Kanban agile methodology to help manage Jira’s.
• Maintain team documentation.
• Thrive in a fast-paced, high-tech learning environment.
• Evaluate leading-edge technologies and develop programs to support various products on TDS’ network.

This remote internship has scheduling flexibility but has a minimum requirement of 20 hours per week. The hourly compensation for this internship is $19.00.

Qualifications

• Must be able to complete at least 20+ working hours between Monday - Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM CST.
• Must be 18+ years of age.
• Currently pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, programming, business or related fields.
• Two or more semesters of related technology coursework.
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and React, with the ability to apply these technologies in hands-on development environments.
• Basic knowledge of Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) & SQL.
• Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience with development tools and environments including Linux (CLI/VM), Git repositories, Jenkins, Postman, IDEs, Windows & Linux OS, and Microsoft Office.
• Basic knowledge or exposure to tools such as TOX, Bandit, Sonar, Ansible, OpenShift, or Secret Server is a plus, but not required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
