2wks ago - BuildOps is hiring a remote Integration Solutions Architect. 💸 Salary: usd 98,000 - 128,000 per year 📍Location: USA

Role Description

The Integration Solutions Architect (ISA) ensures seamless financial and data integrations between BuildOps and customers’ accounting systems, with a focus on accuracy, data integrity, and long‑term scalability. You will own accounting integration discovery, design, configuration, testing, and validation, serving as the bridge between Implementation, Product/Engineering, and customers’ finance teams.

This role is ideal for someone with controller-level accounting expertise who loves solving complex integration problems, partnering consultatively with customers, and influencing stakeholders toward best practices.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead Accounting & Integration Discovery
    • Lead structured discovery sessions with customer finance and accounting teams to understand GL structure, entities, dimensions/classes, and reporting needs.
    • Document current-state accounting setups and integration workflows, including limitations, dependencies, and custom mapping requirements.
    • Align closely with Solutions Architects and Data Analysts on workflow touchpoints and data requirements across implementation.
  • Design & Configure Accounting Integrations
    • Define field mappings, sync direction, and integration logic between BuildOps and accounting platforms (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, Vista, Spectrum).
    • Establish configuration standards for GL accounts, entities/departments, classes/dimensions, and tax rules within BuildOps and the connected ERP.
    • Configure and validate integrations in collaboration with Implementation Managers and customers’ accounting teams.
  • Test, Validate, and Troubleshoot
    • Build and execute integration test plans for AP (bills/expenses), AR (invoices/credits), POs, payments, and related workflows.
    • Reconcile data between BuildOps and the accounting system, ensuring accurate end‑to‑end financial results prior to go‑live.
    • Partner with Data Analysts to validate import/export data and resolve discrepancies, documenting root causes and resolutions.
  • Consult, Influence, and Advocate Best Practices
    • Act as the trusted integration advisor to customers, recommending BuildOps and accounting best practices that support their business today and set them up for future scalability.
    • Balance empathy for customer constraints with clear guidance on standards, data hygiene, and process changes needed for a stable integration.
    • Develop standardized recommendations and playbooks for recurring integration issues and patterns to drive consistency across accounts.
  • Collaborate Across Product and Customer Teams
    • Document integration gaps, product limitations, and bugs; propose and escalate solutions to Product and Engineering as needed.
    • Provide clear integration documentation and handoffs to Customer Success and Support for post‑go‑live stability.

Key Outcomes

  • Successful end‑to‑end sync validation before go‑live
  • Accurate financial reconciliation between BuildOps and the accounting system
  • Minimal post‑go‑live integration issues
  • Clear, reusable documentation and high satisfaction from both customers and internal teams

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or financial operations, including significant exposure to accounting systems/ERPs.
  • 2+ years working with systems integrations, implementation, or technical consulting in a SaaS/ERP or similar environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and comfort working with structured data (CSVs, mapping templates, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate between accounting, operational, and technical stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Direct experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior accountant responsible for system configuration or integrations.
  • Hands‑on experience integrating field service, construction, or project‑based operational platforms with accounting systems.
  • Familiarity with APIs, middleware, or iPaaS tools (e.g., Workato, Boomi, Celigo, Mulesoft) is a plus; deep engineering background is not required.

Benefits

  • Generous equity grant, become an owner in our company!
  • A comprehensive benefits package
  • Flexible PTO and hybrid work schedules
  • One-time work-from-home allowance
  • Hubs in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toronto, and Raleigh with hybrid work schedules and lunch provided for in-office days
  • Company events and team-building activities, both in-person and virtual
  • Fast-paced, collaborative, and dynamic work environment
  • Opportunities for growth and career advancement
  • Chance to work with cutting-edge technology and innovative solutions
  • The chance to get in on the ground floor and build something truly groundbreaking for ourselves and our amazing customers
