Role Description

We're building a new Skills Center, a centralized technical knowledge hub that will provide customers with easy access to articles, videos, FAQs, case studies, and other technical resources. The application will be built using a Headless WordPress architecture, where WordPress serves as the content management system and Next.js/React powers the customer-facing experience. This project will become an important resource by delivering fast, searchable, SEO-friendly content through a modern web application.

We're looking for a developer who enjoys building scalable web applications, working across both frontend and CMS technologies, and collaborating with design, marketing, and engineering teams.

What You'll Do

• Develop and enhance a Headless WordPress and Next.js application supporting a new Skills Center.
• Design and implement structured content models using WordPress custom post types, taxonomies, and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF Pro).
• Build reusable React and Next.js components that consume content through the WordPress REST API.
• Create secure preview workflows allowing content editors to review unpublished content within the live Next.js experience.
• Develop publishing workflows that trigger cache revalidation and ensure newly published content is immediately available.
• Integrate Skills Center content with Typesense to provide fast, faceted search capabilities.
• Build filtering, sorting, pagination, and shareable URLs for an intuitive user experience.
• Integrate Vimeo Player SDK features, including captions, chapters, and transcript synchronization for video content.
• Develop interactive features such as "Was this helpful?" voting while implementing basic abuse protection.
• Implement SEO best practices including canonical URLs, structured data (schema.org / JSON-LD), metadata management, and URL redirects.
• Migrate existing content while preserving search engine rankings and user experience.
• Collaborate closely with UX designers, marketing, and internal developers throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Strong experience developing applications with React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
• Experience building Headless WordPress solutions using:
  • Custom Post Types
  • Custom Taxonomies
  • Advanced Custom Fields (ACF Pro)
  • WordPress REST API
  • PHP customization
• Experience designing clean API contracts between a CMS and modern frontend applications.
• Strong understanding of server-side rendering (SSR), static site generation (SSG), and Incremental Static Regeneration (ISR).
• Experience implementing responsive, accessible user interfaces from Figma designs.
• Experience building complex filtering, sorting, pagination, and URL-driven navigation.
• Experience integrating REST APIs with proper loading, error handling, and empty-state management.
• Solid understanding of Git and collaborative pull request workflows.
• Excellent communication skills and experience working effectively within remote development teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Typesense or similar enterprise search platforms.
• Experience integrating Vimeo Player SDK or similar video APIs.
• Experience improving Core Web Vitals and overall web performance.
• Experience with SEO implementation in Headless CMS environments.
• Familiarity with content migration strategies and URL redirect management.
