[Hiring] Full Stack Technical Developer @Elastic

Role Description

The Marketing Innovation team at Elastic is responsible for developing and maintaining innovative internal applications that improve marketing efficiency and execution. Our flagship app is a homegrown platform crafted to integrate campaign planning, performance reporting, automation, and audience management.

We’re seeking a Full Stack Technical Developer with a backend focus to join our team as a proficient contributor, working closely with Technical Program Managers (TPMs) and users to help bring our roadmap to life.

What You Will Be Doing

• Build and maintain backend services, RESTful APIs, and database structures that power our internal marketing applications.
• Translate business requirements from marketers and TPMs into reliable, intuitive full-stack features, applying sound judgment within established team practices and procedures.
• Contribute to the technical implementation of features from the database up to the API layer, while working in the frontend codebase (React/TypeScript).
• Collaborate with frontend-focused engineers and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth system integration and development lifecycle.
• Participate in technical planning and estimation, providing input on impact, feasibility, and dependencies.
• Participate in code reviews, giving and receiving feedback and sharing best practices with your peers.
• Help us continue to consolidate marketing tools, reduce SaaS dependencies, and deliver custom-built, natively integrated applications that meet unique business needs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a full stack or backend-leaning developer, with solid experience in server-side development (e.g., Node.js, Python, or Go).
• Working proficiency in frontend development using React and TypeScript.
• Good understanding of API design, data modeling, and backend performance, with a growing grasp of system architecture.
• Experience delivering technical features and collaborating across functions (PM, TPM, Design, etc.).
• Familiarity with cloud environments (ideally Google Cloud) and the principles behind resilient distributed systems.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps-style development workflows.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with non-technical team members and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Passion for continuous improvement, creative problem solving, and delivering delightful internal tools.

Bonus Points

• Familiarity with Google Cloud services (e.g., Cloud Functions, BigQuery).
• Experience with NoSQL databases, specifically Elasticsearch.
• Exposure to modern web application frameworks like Next.js.
• Experience building data pipelines, analytics dashboards, or data visualizations.
• Experience integrating AI capabilities or LLMs into enterprise applications.
• Hands-on work with no-code/low-code integration tools (e.g., Zapier) or automation platforms.
