[Hiring] Full Stack Engineer @Penbrothers

Role Description

We are looking for a product-minded Full Stack Engineer who can build and ship end-to-end product experiences while leveraging AI tools to accelerate development. This role will work across frontend, backend, cloud infrastructure, and product execution — taking ownership from idea validation and prototyping through implementation, deployment, monitoring, and iteration.

As an early-stage company, this engineer will play a key role in shaping engineering practices, improving development velocity through AI-assisted workflows, and making thoughtful technical decisions that balance speed, scalability, and maintainability.

The ideal candidate is not only technically strong but also demonstrates product ownership, curiosity, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to independently drive solutions.

Work Set-up: 100% Work from home

Work Schedule: Day Shift - 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (Philippine Time) with flexible working hours. Note: Employees may adjust their schedule, provided there is sufficient overlap with the Australian time zone (AEST) for collaboration. This is a fully remote, asynchronous work environment with no mandatory daily stand-ups, emphasizing autonomy, ownership, proactive communication, and results over hours worked.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, preferably with experience owning or leading end-to-end software development projects across the full project lifecycle.
• Strong experience with:
  • React
  • Next.js
  • TypeScript
  • Node.js
• Experience working with cloud environments, preferably AWS.
• Understanding of APIs, databases, and modern software development practices.
• Comfortable using AI-powered development tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a product-oriented mindset.
• Ability to independently take ownership of features and deliver solutions.
• Experience building and maintaining web applications from frontend to backend.

Requirements

• Experience with AWS serverless technologies (Lambda, S3, IAM, queues, event-driven systems).
• SST framework.
• Infrastructure-as-code concepts.
• Rust or other systems programming languages.
• CI/CD pipelines.
• Observability and monitoring tools.
• Startup or early-stage company experience.
• Experience contributing to UX decisions, prototypes, and product discovery.
