[Hiring] Full Stack Developer @Gophermods

Role Description

We're looking for a skilled and curious Full Stack Developer to help us build, improve, and maintain the web applications and services that power our growing business. This role is hands-on; you'll design, develop, test, deploy, and support software solutions that directly impact how we serve schools and businesses across the country. You'll work closely with the CEO and cross-functional team members to deliver scalable, high-quality tools that align with where we're headed. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who writes clean code, thinks critically, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and embraces AI-assisted development as a way to work smarter. A passion for technology and a desire to continuously grow are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Node.js for building scalable, high-performance backend services
• Strong proficiency in React.js for developing responsive, maintainable front-end applications
• Deep understanding of modern JavaScript (ES6+) and contemporary web standards, including HTML5 and CSS3
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, including designing schemas and writing optimized, efficient queries
• Practical experience implementing automated testing using frameworks such as Jest or Mocha
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design principles and integration best practices
• Proficient in Git-based version control workflows, including branching, merging, and collaborative development practices
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Independent and self-motivated
• Strong prioritization skills with an ability to meet deadlines
• Able to function well in a fast-paced and at times demanding environment
• Proficiency in Google Workspace or similar business tools with the ability to learn new or updated software

Requirements

• Working knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker preferred), CI/CD pipelines, and foundational cloud infrastructure concepts
• Ability to analyze application logs, trace system-level issues, and support production troubleshooting
• Foundational understanding of performance monitoring and optimization techniques
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted tools to enhance software development workflows
• Ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated code and documentation
• Understanding of responsible AI usage within production environments, including security, quality, and governance considerations
