Role Description

Join Avoya Travel and help shape the future of travel technology by creating exceptional digital experiences used by travelers and over 2,200 Independent Advisors nationwide. As a Front-End Developer, you'll play a key role in building and enhancing customer-facing booking platforms, advisor tools, and shared design systems that power our growing business.

• Work alongside talented Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to develop modern, scalable web applications using Vue 3, Nuxt, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.

Qualifications

• Strong experience building responsive and scalable web applications using Vue 3 (Composition API) and Nuxt 3/4.
• Advanced proficiency with TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and Tailwind CSS.
• Experience with modern front-end tooling including Vite.
• Experience writing and maintaining unit and component tests using Vitest.
• Experience with source control workflows, including Git, branching strategies, and pull request reviews.
• Strong understanding of responsive design principles, cross-browser compatibility, and modern web development practices.
• Knowledge of web accessibility requirements, including WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
• Understanding of application performance optimization, including Core Web Vitals, bundle optimization, SSR, and hydration techniques.
• Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex front-end issues effectively.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants and AI-enhanced development tools.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Requirements

• A minimum of three (3) years of professional front-end development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Web Development, or a related field or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
• Experience leading or contributing to Nuxt 2 to Nuxt 3/4 migration projects.
• Experience building, maintaining, or scaling shared component libraries, design systems, or front-end platforms.
• Experience with Storybook or similar component documentation tools.
• Experience within the travel industry, online booking platforms, e-commerce environments, or high-traffic customer-facing websites.
• Familiarity with modern CI/CD practices and deployment workflows.

Physical Requirements

• If remote, ability to receive and setup company laptop, 15” monitor, keyboard, headset, and mouse (all less than 5-lbs each).
• Ability to work in a primary stationary job from a laptop computer.
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time each workday (typically 8-hours).
• Ability to speak English clearly, in a friendly manner, and at an appropriate volume over the company’s provided phone system, Microsoft Teams, or in person as needed.
