[Hiring] Freelance Full Stack Software Engineer @Decima International

Role Description

Decima International is seeking an experienced Freelance Backend Developer to build and/or complete the backend functionality of the company website. The freelancer will work with the existing website design/frontend and internal stakeholders to deliver a reliable, secure, maintainable, and scalable backend.

The developer should be comfortable working independently, translating business requirements into technical solutions, integrating frontend components and third-party services, and taking ownership through deployment and handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop the website’s backend architecture.
• Develop and maintain APIs required by the frontend.
• Implement database structures and backend business logic.
• Integrate contact forms, CMS functionality, email notifications, third-party APIs, or other website services as required.
• Connect backend services with the existing frontend.
• Ensure appropriate authentication, authorization, data validation, and website security.
• Optimize backend performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Configure development, staging, and production environments as needed.
• Support cloud/server deployment.
• Implement source control and an appropriate deployment/CI/CD process.
• Troubleshoot backend and integration issues.
• Test APIs and backend functionality before launch.
• Produce clear technical documentation.
• Complete code and credential handover to Decima International at project closure.
• Provide post-launch support during an agreed warranty/support period.

Qualifications

• Strong professional backend/software development experience.
• Demonstrated experience developing REST APIs / Web APIs.
• Experience developing production web applications.
• Strong understanding of databases and backend architecture.
• Experience integrating frontend applications with backend services.
• Familiarity with cloud deployment, preferably AWS, Azure, or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of Git, Docker, deployment processes, and basic CI/CD.
• Understanding of secure coding practices, performance optimization, and maintainability.
• Ability to work independently against milestones and deadlines.
• Strong English communication and technical documentation skills.

Preferred

• ASP.NET Core/C# or Python/Django/Flask experience.
• Prior corporate website projects.
• CMS integration.
• Experience taking a website from development through production deployment.

• A fully functioning backend.
• Completed frontend/backend integration.
• Deployed production environment.
• Tested APIs and forms.
• Source-code handover.
• Technical documentation.
• Access/credential handover.
• A defined post-launch support period.
