Role Description

Frustrated by how discourse is so broken on social media that it seems to make us dumber instead of smarter? Build the world's first Debate Prediction Game with us. Together we'll make discourse fun and beneficial for millions of people and supercharge the collective intelligence of humans and AIs.

We are looking for a Founding Engineer (Fullstack) to help us launch and get to product-market-fit with our initial product: Contro's Debates with Skin in the Game.

The ideal candidate is an exceptional, highly intelligent yet pragmatic engineer who has previously played significant and hands-on roles in creating complex user-facing applications such as social networks or trading platforms—taking them from inception to production at scale. You should also be really interested in web3 / blockchain technology and LLMs.

What You'll Do

• Product & UX: Own the frontend code and work closely with the founder and a senior product designer as well as our early users to integrate components and monitor and iterate UX to perfection.
• Systems & Data: Design Postgres schemas and RLS (Supabase), write edge APIs, and support our backend workers, shaping much of the core infrastructure.
• Web3 Innovation: Enable cutting-edge digital asset UX leveraging WebAuthn, integrate smart contracts, own the blockchain indexer, and work with our fintech partners.

Qualifications

• Top 0.5% intellectual ability and curiosity as demonstrated by a degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering from a top university, or similar.
• 5+ years programming experience, 1+ of which as a senior software engineer.
• Proficient in Typescript and React; bonus: in Go/systems.
• Extensive experience with databases such as Postgres.
• Interest in Finance, Blockchains, Consumer Apps, User psychology, and AI.
• Security mindset.
• Excellent written communication.
