[Hiring] Founding backend engineer @Dealflow

Role Description

This role involves backend engineering and solving complex problems to enhance our invoicing platform.

• Translate technical requirements into detailed backend designs for scalable systems.
• Drive innovation, maintainability, and performance under strict timelines.
• Lead backend engineering and solve complex problems such as:
  • Ensuring optimal schema design, 100% uptime, and high-end security.
  • Gamifying the credit scoring experience for customers while ensuring a high ROI on lending bets.
  • Optimizing invoice matching algorithms to accurately match invoices to deposits at scale.
  • Improving payment orchestration to lower costs and increase margins.
  • Setting up an analytics system that tracks all relevant numbers.
• Integrate technology with external systems such as:
  • Payment processors like Stripe.
  • Open banking platforms like Plaid.
  • Accounting systems like QuickBooks and Economic.

Qualifications

• Experience in Python (4+ years)
• Experience in AWS ecosystem (4+ years)
• Experience with banking integrations (1+ years, not required but valued)
• Experience with accounting integrations (1+ years, not required but valued)
• Experience with payment gateways and processors like Stripe (1+ years)
• Experience with backend development and various technologies (MQs, caches, architectural patterns, etc.)
• Experience with writing tests (Unit / Integration / Performance)
• Hands-on with performance and optimization problems, with demonstrated ability to diagnose and prevent these issues.
• Extreme attention to detail and obsession for scalable systems.
• Hands-on with CI/CD (we use GitHub Actions, AWS Code Deploy)
• Working knowledge of cybersecurity
• Experience with Postman
