[Hiring] Engineering Manager, Platform @Float

Role Description

We’re hiring an Engineering Manager for Platform to lead Float’s Infrastructure and Developer Experience teams. This role exists to remove friction for engineers, deliver banking-grade reliability, and build internal platforms that allow product teams to ship safely and quickly. This is a hands-on leadership role, with an expected 50/50 split between technical work and people leadership.

• Unify Infrastructure and Developer Experience into a single cohesive Platform team.
• Own reliability, uptime, and platform maturity across Float.
• Build and evolve internal developer tooling and workflows.
• Lead SRE-style reliability practices and incident response.
• Partner with Engineering to understand and eliminate developer friction.
• Contribute directly to infrastructure and platform code.

Qualifications

• Experience across infrastructure and developer tooling (not one or the other).
• Strong cloud experience (AWS).
• Infrastructure as Code expertise.
• Deep empathy for developer workflows.
• Experience running reliable systems in regulated or high-availability environments.
• Comfort contributing code and reviewing complex PRs.
