Role Description

• Search Relevance Optimization: Analyze and enhance search relevance algorithms to ensure accurate and relevant search results for users.
• Search Query Optimization: Implement and manage search query optimization strategies based on user behavior and business objectives.
• Search Engine Management: Oversee the configuration and performance of search engines to meet the evolving needs of the eCommerce platform.
• AI/ML Integration: Leverage AI and machine learning technologies to develop and implement advanced search functionalities, including personalized and predictive search capabilities.
• Collaboration: Work closely with product owners, data scientists, and software engineers to define and implement search-related features and improvements.
• Performance Monitoring: Monitor search performance metrics and user feedback to identify areas for enhancement and implement data-driven solutions.
• Problem-Solving: Utilize excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to think critically and creatively.
• Communication: Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Technology & Programming Skills: Be well-versed with the latest technology stack like Elasticsearch, Big Query, Python, NodeJS, etc.
• Documentation: Maintain clear documentation of search algorithms, tuning strategies, and system configurations for internal teams.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Eight (8) years of work experience in software engineering related to search relevance and search query optimization for eCommerce websites.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Elasticsearch gained through four years of work experience.
• Experience building or integrating RAG-based architectures for LLM-assisted search use cases through at least one project.
• Experience architecting search systems, including Lexical search using algorithms such as BM25, and hybrid integration for Semantic search gained through at least four years of work experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of SQL and NoSQL gained through at least four years of work experience.
• Knowledge of AI tools such as Python and ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn gained through at least two years of work experience.
