Role Description

The IT Developer uses a broad range of functional and technical skills toward the build-out and integration of custom WWT applications and third-party vendor systems and products. This position plays a crucial role in the design, development, and deployment of software solutions. This employee will leverage their experience to contribute and help drive complex projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software products. This could involve co-leading development efforts, mentoring junior developers, and contributing to strategic planning and execution.

Responsibilities

• Applying and starting to lead and promote WWT Core Values and best practices.
• Software Design and Development: Design, develop, and test software applications and features in accordance with requirements and standards.
• Technical Leadership: Start taking ownership and accountability of complex technical challenges and providing effective solutions by demonstrating a deep understanding of relevant technologies, frameworks, and tools.
• Code Review and Quality Assurance: Conduct code reviews with a focus on quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practices, offering constructive feedback.
• Promote and enforce coding standards, best practices, and design patterns within the team.
• Testing: Conduct comprehensive testing including unit, integration, functional, regression, and user acceptance testing to ensure software reliability and performance.
• Technical Problem-Solving: Identifying and solving complex problems, proposing innovative solutions that enhance product functionality and performance.
• Mentorship and Collaboration: Provide guidance and support to junior developers, helping them to develop their skills and navigate technical challenges.
• Support and Troubleshooting: Offer ongoing support and consultation to address technical issues and ensure solutions meet end-user needs.
• Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain comprehensive technical and configuration documentation.
• Agile Methodology: Actively engage in Agile development practices including sprint planning, story creation, daily standups, testing, demos, and retrospectives.
• Learning and Development: Continuously learn and understand WWT’s business and technical processes to effectively contribute to and support the evolution of our technology solutions.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years' progressive experience in a related field.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, or Engineering preferred.
• Technical Skills:
  • Front-end: Vue3, HTML, CSS, BootStrap, JavaScript.
  • Backend: NodeJS, Rest APIs, Confluent Kafka, Event-based programming.
  • Database: Oracle SQL, PL/SQL.
  • Nice to have: Oracle HCM Cloud, Agentic AI.
• Testing: Test-first mindset with experience in test automation, unit, functional, end-to-end, and regression testing.
• Analytical and Problem Solving Skills: Ability to critically analyze and decompose complex technical requirements.
• Strong problem-definition, requirements elicitation, impact analysis, and solution design skills.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Teamwork and Leadership: Collaborative and team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to mentor, guide, and work effectively with both offshore and onsite teams.
• Innovation and Creativity: Ability to think innovatively, present alternative solutions, and demonstrate creativity in problem-solving and application design.
• Agile: Experience thriving in Agile environments with evolving requirements.
• Self-Motivation: Highly responsible self-starter/team-oriented individual with a very strong work ethic.

Requirements

• Up to 10% domestic travel required.
