Role Description

The Database Administrator/Analyst (DBA) is responsible for managing, optimizing, and supporting the database administration, performance tuning, data access controls, data governance support, and database security management of the company’s database environments. This role helps ensure that databases are secure, reliable, highly available, and performant, serving as a key enabler for both internal engineering teams and customer-facing applications.

• Manage, maintain, and optimize company databases for performance, reliability, security, and scalability.
• Perform and manage database administration tasks (primarily relational, with exposure to NoSQL).
• Create, manage, and review database users, roles, and permissions to ensure proper access controls.
• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot bottlenecks, capacity, and indexing issues.
• Evaluate and tune queries, indexes, and configurations to optimize performance.
• Implement and maintain data security controls, including encryption, auditing, and compliance measures.
• Ensure data integrity and availability through robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Contribute to the implementation and continuous improvement of data governance policies and procedures and support adherence across the organization.
• Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI and Tableau for data analysis and visualization.
• Perform and interpret data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights to support business decision-making.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and deliver analytical solutions.
• Document, review, and improve database administration procedures, security protocols, and governance frameworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any field or equivalent experience required.
• 5+ years of experience in a database administrative or equivalent role.
• Expertise with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server).
• Strong skills in database monitoring, profiling, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with scripting (Python, Bash) for automation.
• Solid understanding of database security, user access, and compliance best practices.
• Experience with data lineage, security, quality, and governance.

Requirements

• Experience with cloud-hosted and managed database services (AWS RDS, Aurora, Redshift).
• Ability to translate complex business needs into efficient data systems.
• 7-8 years of experience in a database administrative or equivalent role.

Benefits

• The salary range for this role is $121,679 - $147,639 with a target compensation of $121,679 - $137,625 based on experience and qualifications.
• Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes a generous retirement package.
