[Hiring] Backend Software Engineer @Hostinger

Role Description

Your role at Hostinger:

• Join Hostinger AI Builder - the team building an AI-powered platform that helps anyone turn an idea into a website, online store, or web app.
• Own problems end-to-end: from identifying customer needs to shipping solutions and measuring their impact.
• Build the engine behind AI Builder/eCommerce - Design and develop backend systems and APIs using Node.js.
• Take ownership of backend features and services, making architectural decisions with guidance from senior engineers.
• Focus on API performance, database optimization, and system scalability.
• Connect third-party APIs, implement data storage solutions, and help build features that users love.
• Write tested, documented, scalable code that creates business value.
• Collaborate closely with frontend developers, product managers, and other engineers.
• Get mentored on system design, performance optimization, and backend best practices.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL or MySQL in production environments.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs and experience building them.
• Experience with message queues (RabbitMQ, BullMQ, GCP PubSub).
• Kubernetes, Docker, and containerization knowledge.
• Experience working with observability tools, such as Grafana or similar solutions.
• Testing mindset - experience with unit testing and integration testing (Jest, Mocha, or similar).
• Database knowledge - comfortable with SQL and at least one ORM (Sequelize, TypeORM, Prisma, or similar), Redis.
• Git proficiency - experienced in team environments and collaboration through version control.
• Self-starter mentality - ownership, asking good questions, and challenging approaches.
• Good communicator - documentation of work, sharing progress, and effective collaboration.

Requirements

• Microservices architecture exposure (nice to have).
• Performance monitoring and optimization experience (nice to have).
• CI/CD pipeline familiarity (nice to have).
• Experience with AI tools and LLM providers (significant plus).
• Terraform experience (nice to have).
