Role Description

As a Backend Engineer in the Data Feeds Team, you will be responsible for:

• Data Pipelines Maestro: Developing, optimizing, and maintaining super-scalable data pipelines for both structured and unstructured data.
• Data Systems Guardian: Maintaining and enhancing the stability, reliability, and high availability of existing data systems and services.
• Data Architecture Builder: Constructing and refining an expandable, high-performance data architecture.
• Data Services Provider: Serving high-quality, rock-solid data services to internal users.
• Business-Aligned Data Designer: Designing and implementing data functionalities and intuitive data visualizations based on product and business requirements.
• Third-Party Data Integrator: Overseeing the integration and maintenance of collaborative data with third-party clients.
• Global Team Player: Collaborating with teams across the US, Singapore, and China, with flexibility in work hours.
• Data Governance Enforcer: Enforcing best practices in data governance, security, and compliance.

This is a fully-remote opportunity based in India. Standard work hours are from 8 am to 5 pm IST.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline from a top-tier (Tier 1/2) institution.
• 4+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• Deep understanding of computer science fundamentals with core data structures and advanced algorithms.
• Excellent in one of the following languages: Python / Golang / Java (Python is the most preferred).
• Proficiency with messaging platforms (Kafka, RMQ, SQS) and relational/NoSQL datastores (MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB, Cassandra, ScyllaDB, HBase, Redis, Aerospike, etc.).
• Experience in architecture and developing large-scale distributed systems.
• Familiarity with microservice architecture, API gateway patterns, and service observability (logging, tracing, metrics).
• Proven track record building and operating systems with strict latency and reliability requirements in 24/7 environments.
• Strong architectural expertise with modern backend stacks (Go, Python, Java, Node.js) and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure, Kubernetes/Docker).
• Excellent logic analysis capabilities, able to abstract and split business logic reasonably.
• Strong ownership, self-motivation, and the ability to deliver independently while also collaborating effectively.
• Ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts and org-wide strategies to engineers, cross-functional partners, and executives.

Requirements

• Bonus: RPC frameworks (gRPC/Protobuf, Thrift).
• Nice to have (Optional): Knowledge of security best practices, authentication/authorization, and performance tuning for high-traffic systems.
• Knowledge of AI agent/harness, focus on how to use AI to improve work efficiency or restructure work patterns.
• Experience with DevOps practices.
