Role Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Cloud Architect to design, implement, and govern secure cloud solutions in Microsoft Azure. This role will provide hands-on technical leadership across infrastructure-as-code, DevOps pipeline integration, application deployment patterns, and cloud governance. The Azure Cloud Architect will help transition business-critical applications into a reliable, secure, compliant, and cost-effective cloud environment aligned with the Azure Well-Architected Framework.

This role will partner closely with Infrastructure, Information Security, Software Development, QA, and Operations teams to define cloud architecture standards, guide implementation decisions, and support successful delivery across the application lifecycle.

We are committed to fair and transparent compensation. The salary range for this role is based on several factors including experience, skills, and qualifications and is $175,000 to $190,000 CAD.

Qualifications

• Experience in designing and implementing secure, scalable, and highly available cloud solutions.
• Hands-on expertise in guiding and mentoring engineering and DevOps teams.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools, primarily Terraform/Bicep.
• Experience in developing robust DevOps pipelines for CI/CD processes.
• Strong collaboration skills with software development, QA, security, and operations teams.
• Knowledge of cloud security, governance, compliance, and cost-efficiency strategies.
• Familiarity with agile project management practices.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell.

Requirements

• Design, architect, and implement secure cloud solutions following Azure Well-Architected Framework standards.
• Serve as a technical lead, providing hands-on expertise to guide and mentor engineering and DevOps teams.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) scripts primarily using Terraform/Bicep.
• Design and implement robust DevOps pipelines for CI/CD processes.
• Establish practices for multi-layered application deployments with comprehensive testing.
• Identify and implement strategies to enhance cloud security and governance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges related to cloud infrastructure.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and Azure platform advancements.
• Implement and optimize foundational cloud platforms using automation tools.
• Collaborate with application infrastructure teams for proof of concepts (POCs).
• Employ Configuration Management tools like Ansible, Chef, Puppet.
• Work with container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
• Demonstrate proficiency in major cloud platforms including Azure and AWS.
• Awareness of on-premises virtualization technologies (e.g., HyperV, VMware).
• Apply High Availability Disaster Recovery principles and practices.
• Promote fundamental security practices in cloud environments.
