Role Description

The Engineering team builds the software powering Veriff, tackling the challenges of online identity in a scalable and innovative way. We’re looking for an Android Developer to help us build a reliable, secure, and high-performing SDK that works seamlessly across a wide range of devices.

In this role, you will contribute to developing efficient and scalable solutions that integrate smoothly with partner applications, while learning and growing in a fast-paced environment. You’ll help us protect honest people online by:

  • Contributing to the development and maintenance of our Android SDK, focusing on performance, security, and usability
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and backend engineers
  • Supporting efforts to ensure compatibility across a variety of Android devices (low-end to high-end)
  • Writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
  • Participating in code reviews and incorporating feedback to improve code quality
  • Assisting in debugging issues and resolving performance bottlenecks
  • Staying up to date with Android development best practices and emerging technologies
  • Contributing to improving development workflows, including testing and release processes

Qualifications

  • Experience as an Android Developer with hands-on work in Kotlin and/or Java
  • Familiarity with Android frameworks and building mobile applications or SDK features
  • Basic understanding of RESTful APIs and their integration
  • Experience with testing (unit or integration) and debugging
  • Understanding of mobile app architecture and best practices (e.g. MVVM, clean architecture – exposure is enough)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

Requirements

  • Exposure to Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban)
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with performance optimisation or working across different Android devices
  • Any exposure to cross-platform tools (e.g., React Native or Flutter)
  • Awareness of accessibility and inclusive design principles
